Barbara Norene Dixon, 87, of Taylorville, Illinois passed away on July 12, 2024. Norene was born in Taylorville, the daughter of John and Mary (Spigarelli) Giovagnoli. She married Jack Edward Dixon at St. Mary's Catholic Church in Taylorville on July 6, 1960. They were married for over 41 blessed years before his passing on June 23, 2002.
After graduating Taylorville High School in 1955, she held a variety of jobs, including at the family restaurant and as a hairdresser. She even moved to Chicago to work for Delta Airlines. After returning to Taylorville, she met her husband, Jack, and worked at St. Vincent's Hospital until the birth of the first of their four children.
Norene was a caregiver by nature, providing for and taking care of her family. She was the primary caregiver to her son, Scott, who was diagnosed with Muscular Dystrophy at the age of 4, until his passing at age 24.
She attended St. Mary's Catholic Church, was a member of the Catholic Daughters of America, and enjoyed
