Robert Earl "Bob" McKinnon, age 88, a lifelong resident of Taylorville and Edinburg, Illinois, passed away on July 25, 2024, at Taylorville Memorial Hospital.
Bob was born on August 2, 1935 in Kincaid, Illinois, the son of Fred and Mabel (Holmes) McKinnon. He married Barbara France on April 1, 1989, and she preceded him in death on May 4, 2023.
Upon graduating high school, Bob proudly joined the United States Air Force. He then went on to work for the Pepsi Cola Company in Springfield, Illinois, retiring after 35 years of service. Bob was a hard worker and continued to work up until the age of 81. He was also a roofer and spent 15 years at Kennedy Metal Products in Taylorville, Illinois. Bob also owned and operated B & B Concessions, running 3 concession stands at local fairs and festivals with his wife Barbara and their children for many years.
Bob enjoyed traveling in his mobile home, especially to Texas and Florida. He was known for being a good whistler to nearly any song
