Leah Renee Avila, 53 of Gallatin, TN formerly of Taylorville passed away on Wednesday, August 7, 2024, at 3:26 a.m. at Jacksonville Memorial Hospital in Jacksonville, IL. Leah was born on September 13, 1970, in Decatur, IL, the daughter of Emery R. (Laura) Staples and Judy (Simmons) (Jerry) Durbin. Leah was a loving and caring individual who would do anything for her family and friends.
Leah is survived by her children: Danny Gonzalez of Taylorville, Sydney Neal of California, Jesse Torres of Taylorville, Alexandria Torres of Jacksonville; Grandchildren: Braylyn, Adrielle, Kianii, Nattii, Lucian and Percy; Siblings: Pam Welge (Scott Wilson) of Taylorville, Jeff Staples (Carmen) of Wetzlar Germany, Karen Durbin of Gallatin, TN, Keith Staples of Taylorville; Serena Staples (Edgar Molina) of St. Louis, MO; Amber Braun (Peter) of Taylorville; Several Aunts, Uncles, Nieces, Nephews and Cousins. She was preceded in death by her mom Judy (Simmons) Durbin, and Stepdad: Jerry Durbin.
