Marilyn Barth, 77, of Greenville, Illinois passed away peacefully on Thursday, February 20, 2025, in Highland Healthcare Center.
She was born on August 31, 1947, in Vandalia, Illinois, the daughter of Albert 'Dutch' and Grace Lee (Dickson) Barth. She was raised on the family farm south of Tamalco and attended school in Greenville. In her youth, she was member of the Tamalco Christian Church and was active in the local 4-H club. After graduating high school, Marilyn embarked on a long and fulfilling career at the First National Bank, in Greenville, where she worked for an impressive 48 years. Throughout her tenure, the bank changed names twice.
She was a lifelong fan of the St. Louis Cardinals and the University of Illinois basketball team. Marilyn was a compassionate and caring person. She took great pride in helping care for her mother and sister, Carolyn. Marilyn had a love for shopping, with a special fondness for shoes.
