Jimmie A. Roach, 84, of Taylorville, IL, passed away on Saturday, March 1, 2025, at St. John's Hospital in Springfield, IL. He was born on August 7, 1940, in Rolla, MO, to the late John A. and Ruby (Painter) Roach. On August 25, 1961, he married the love of his life, Janet Parrish, and they spent many happy and loving years together.
Jimmie served in the Air Force and later worked as a coal miner for many years before retiring. He was a member of United Mine Workers of America and of the Christian County Coal Mine Museum. In the 70's he raced stock cars and enjoyed watching Nascar. In his free time, he loved building coal mine models, dancing, playing cards, and meeting friends for coffee. He was a loving husband, father, and friend.
